SUSTEAD parish, 4 miles S.S.W. of Cromer, has 143 souls, and 483 acres of land, mostly belonging to W.H. Windham, Esq., lord of the manor, formerly held by the Damme family, who had a large mansion, near a rivulet, which abounds in trout.

The CHURCH (St. Peter and St. Paul,) is a small edifice, with a round tower. The living is a perpetual curacy, certified at Ł16, and valued in 1831 at Ł34. It was augmented from 1779 to 1809, with Ł600 of Queen Anne's Bounty, laid out in land at Great Witchingham. W.H. Windham, Esq., is impropriator and patron, and the Rev. F.E. Arden, B.A., incumbent.
