SNETTERTON, a parish of scattered houses, 3 miles N. of East Harling, has 261 souls and 2174 acres, of which only 1668 acres are assessable. It is in five farms, three belonging to the Earl of Albemarle, and two to Sir T.B. Beevor, the lord of the manor.

The Earl is patron of the rectory, valued in the King's Book at £12.17.1d., and consolidated with Quiddenham, in the incumbency of the Hon. and Rev. E.S. Keppel. The Church (All Saints) has a tower and four bells, and here was anciently another church dedicated to St. Andrew. The Church Land is 26A. 2R., let for only £3.15.

The poor have £3 a year out of the Hall farm, left by an unknown donor. The rector built a School here in 1836, and supports it for the education of the poor.
