Mattishall is one of the few places in the county for which census before 1801 survive.

These census come from a Norfolk Record Office document [with the reference PD 703/3 (microform MF/RO 633/5)] and contain only statistics ie. no names (apart from two ministers one of whom was dissenting). They appear at the end of the 1812 Burials volume.
