It is partly in Taverham Hundred in the county of Norfolk, and partly
in the City of Norwich.
The name may also be spelled Hellesden.
The name is pronounced as Helsdon.

institution. This was the Norwich City Lunatic Asylum.
"The large increase in the population of Hellesdon Civil Parish is
attributed mainly to the increased number of patients in Norwich
City Lunatic Asylum."
