It had 70 inhabitants in 1881, living on 1136 acres, and has a rateable value of £1905 5s., all the property of Sir Thomas Beevor, Bart., D.L., J.P., who resides at Hingham, and lets the hall, as a shooting-box, to William Betts, Esq., Diss.
The CHURCH (All Saints), which had long been dilapidated, and only a small part used for divine service, was restored in 1874, at a cost of £500. Its detached and ivy-clad tower, now in ruins, has a picturesque appearance.
The rectory, valued in the King's Book at £4 4s. 2d., is consolidated with Wilby, and of joint yearly value of £380. John Goodacre, Esq., is the patron, and the Rev. Francis Purges Goodacre, Wilby, is incumbent.
