CALTHORPE is a village 15½ miles N.N.W. of Norwich, and 3½ miles N. of Aylsham. The parish comprises 1056 acres, and contained in 1841, 214 inhabitants; its present residents are:-

	Newstead  Benj.          timber merchant
	Newstead  Jno. E.        grocer & wheelwright
	Platten   Robert         'Saracen's Head'

	   Farmers.
