MISCELLANEOUS.

Winnould Fair, held at Downham Market, on Monday last, was attended by a great many horse-dealers, who appeared very eager in purchasing good nag horses, of which a great many were sold. The weather proving very fine, attracted a great deal of company from the neighbouring villages.

At our Cattle Market, on Saturday, there were but few store sheep, but those were sold at low prices. Fat beef in tolerable plenty, which obtained from 9s. to 10s. per stone; and a very small supply of lean beasts, very few of which were sold, owing to the scarcity of feed.

At our Corn Market, on Saturday last, there was but little business transacted, particularly in Barley, which sold from 13s. 6d. to 15s. - Oats 13s. to 16s. - Wheat 38s. to 44s. - Beans 19s. to 21s. - Grey Pease 19s. to 21s. 6d.

That old and highly useful and respectable corps the "Wells Volunteer Infantry," commanded by Captain James Gardner Bloom, on Monday last, on parade, at the suggestion of their commanding officer, voluntarily made an offer of two days' pay, towards the relief of the distressed British prisoners in France. An example which it is sincerely hoped will be followed by every volunteer corps in the kingdom.

Sunday last, an inquisition was held, at Hale, on the body of Henry Sharman, tailor, of Moulton, a man of industrious character, found dead, lying in a marsh adjoining the public footpath from Stokesby ferry. The deceased was on his return from Yarmouth, with a heavy bundle of cloth, about twelve o'clock on Friday evening last, and from some cause unknown, went off the wall into the water. - Jurors' verdict, accidental death.

Saturday last was conveyed to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, Benj. Moore, of this city, with a scald on the leg. - Same day, Brittanne Rhymes, of Aylsham, with a gun-shot wound on the back.

On Monday last, at Great Massingham, in this county, Mrs. Hamond, of a daughter.

MARRIED.

Saturday last, Mr. Joshua Green, of Beccles, to Miss Jenkins, of Yarmouth.

Monday last, at All Saints' church, by the Rev. W.F. Wilkinson, the Rev. Wm. Fitt Drake, B.A. of Bene't college, Cambridge, to Harriet, eldest daughter of Mr. Wm. Tomlinson, of this city.

Last week, Mr. Samuel Stubbings, of Tibenham, to Mrs. Reynolds, of New Buckenham, both in this county.

DIED.

A few days since, aged 13, Marianne, eldest daughter of the Rev. Edw. Codd, of East Dereham, after a long and very heavy affliction, which she supported with the greatest patience.

Thursday se'nnight, aged 63, Mr. Walter Lake, of Watton. He was a kind husband, a tender father, and a truly honest man.

Same day, at Aylsham, Mrs. Baxter, in consequence of her clothes catching fire, as mentioned in our last.

Yesterday se'nnight, in the 14th year of his age, William, son of Mr. Biddell, of Heywood-hall, Diss, and late of Cockfield, in Suffolk.

Saturday last, in the 41st year of his age, much regretted by all his friends, Mr. Richard Day, of Middleton, near Yoxford, in the county of Suffolk.

Same day, Mr. George Harland, who for a great many years kept the Toll-bar at Salter's Load, in this county.

Same day, at Aylsham, Mr. John Raymes, aged 80.

Sunday last, at Lynn, Mrs. Bunnett, wife of Mr. Bunnett, mathematician.

Monday last, in the 70th year of his age, the Rev. Mark Burn, Vicar of South Lynn All Saints, & of Gayton, in this county; a gentleman of the most amiable character and manners, whose death is sincerely regretted, as he was respected and beloved by his parishioners, friends, and acquaintance. - The former living is in the gift of the Bishop of Ely, the latter in that of the Bishop of Norwich.

Tuesday last, the Rev. Joshua White, 45 years Rector of Oxburgh with Foulden, in this county. - This valuable rectory is in the gift of Caius college, Cambridge.

Same day, aged 77, the Rev. Repps Browne, of Fulmodeston, rector of Great Melton and Dalling, in this county.

Same day, aged 70, Mrs. Hanton, in St. Andrew's.

Same day, aged 29, Mr. Charles Bidewell, son of the late Mr. Wm. Bidewell, farmer, of Weston
