directories increased over the years. As it said on the main page for this

some biographical information about previous inhabitants of a place.
- 1793 Universal British Directory
This shows the

- 1831 Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of England
This shows the
Winterton entry to have 545 inhabitants.
- 1836 Whites Norfolk
This shows the
Winterton entry to have 35 named inhabitants.
- 1845 Whites Norfolk

of 588 (excluding 131 fishermen) in the 1841 census.
